Written in the winter and spring of 2025, Through the Window is a song cycle that explores some of the darker places in my mind at the time. Based on original texts, the songs journey from nostalgia and reminiscence of old times to anger and rage about current times.
Originally intended for soprano Susana Leiva, two songs (In Music I Reveled and Through the Window) were first performed at a Rutgers concert by mezzo-soprano Micaela Aldridge-Singh. I am preparing to premiere the full cycle with Leiva later this year.
